Hey, I’m Blaine

I am a senior at the University of Rochester pursuing a degree in Digital Media Studies, where my work sits at the intersection of technology, storytelling, and spatial experience. My academic focus centers on photogrammetry, digital imaging, 3D modeling, and animation tools that allow me to capture, reconstruct, and reinterpret the physical world in digital form.

At the Lazarus Project Lab, I work with 3D cultural heritage objects, using advanced imaging techniques to preserve artifacts that might otherwise be lost to time. This work has shaped the way I think about digital media not just as a creative outlet, but as a means of documentation, conservation, and historical interpretation. I am particularly drawn to projects that bridge the technical and the humanistic, where data becomes narrative and models become a way of engaging with the past.

My interests extend into the broader applications of digital imaging, especially in cultural heritage preservation, environmental conservation, and immersive media. I am fascinated by how virtual reconstruction and spatial storytelling can transform the way people interact with history, landscapes, and even memory itself.

Alongside my work in digital media, I am also pursuing a long-standing passion for aviation. Following graduation, I plan to begin flight training toward my Private Pilot License, with the goal of continuing on to commercial certification. For me, both aviation and 3D imaging share a common thread: they are ways of understanding space one through physical navigation, the other through digital reconstruction.
