Downtown Rochester NY

The goal of this photography project was to capture a theme that resonated with us personally as students. For me, that meant diving into street photography and exploring corners of Downtown Rochester I had yet to discover. The city, especially its downtown, is rich with historical character-visible in its architecture, alleyways, and worn facades. I wanted to spend time capturing that history through my lens. This project became a chance not only to deepen my interest in photography but also to satisfy my curiosity and sense of adventure. Armed with a Yashica SLR loaded with 35mm film and a digital Canon slung over my shoulder, I wandered through Rochester’s streets, seeking out stories etched in stone, brick and shadow.
